CTT Scotland and Veterans Time Trials Association (VTTA) will hold a Track Day at Caird Park on 12th July 2026 The aim of this event is to promote track cycling in Scotland. The 1km and 3km distances have been added to the VTTA outdoor track record book in 2026 so riders will get a record if they go faster than anyone older!
Riders will race individually around the 402 meter outdoor track to complete 5km, i.e 12 laps and 176 meters. Each rider will have a 15 minute slot that is estimated to allow the typical rider to have two warm up laps to get used to racing the bends before their record attempts. Split times will be taken at 1km and 3km.
The event starts at 10:00 and ends at 15:00. The event capacity is 26 riders. The entry fee is £25. Riders must enter online at the CTT site. Entry on the day will be allowed, but is not advised, as this event is expected to sell-out by the closing date. Entrants must belong to a CTT affiliated club or the VTTA.
Under VTTA regulations, to set an outdoor track record, riders can use a solo or tandem time trial bike or a road bike that meets CTT regulations, just as you would use in road time trial, or a Track (fixed gear) bike that is UCI legal. Tricycles will not be accepted for this track event.
All ages are welcome, but 20 places will be reserved for Veterans. A startsheet with start times will be published before the event. If the event is oversubscribed, last three season personal bests at 10 miles will be used for selection. If the Veterans places are oversubscribed, last three season personal best age adjusted times at 10 miles will be used for selection. We aim to get a good range of ages racing the event.
Caird Park has an excellent velodrome with a car park and changing rooms.
The following prizes will be awarded on the day:
1st on AAT | £50.00 |
2nd on AAT | £30.00 |
3rd on AAT | £20.00 |
All riders will be evaluated on AAT. VTTA riders who set age records will get a certificate after the event.
