Course:

G25/80

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COURSE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE G25/80 WITH START AND FINISH IN EAST HOATHLY and not the usual G25/89 as printed in the CTT handbook.

First rider off at 08:01 in a field of 28 riders.  Note the start is 80 yards from The Shaw roundabout on the East Hoathly bypass - the finish almost opposite the start.

We are using East Hoathly Village Hall BN8 6EQ on Church Marks Lane, and also accessible on foot from South Street, due to the usual HQ(s) near Maresfield not being available. It is a very well equipped HQ with WiFi, as used for the ESCA 50 back in June.

Please note that is a different HQ from the Sports Pavilion HQ used for the previous day's ESCA 10.

Place and Rogers ride to East Sussex 25 wins

Valerie Place claimed her first win of the season at the East Sussex CA 25-mile time trial on Sunday morning, while Adam Rogers finished fastest in the open category.

Riding for 7Oaks Tri Club, veteran Place clocked 01-10 to seal the victory ahead of teammate Vivienne Cornwell, who finished second in 01-12, while Domie Pollard’s (East Grinstead CC) time of 01-14 saw her into third position.

Place outperformed her Spindata predicted finish to beat pre-race favourite Gemma Shadbolt to the title and claim a first win in only her second Cycling Time Trials event this year.

In the open category, over 45 veteran Rogers posted 56-47 to fight off competition from fellow Eastbourne Rovers CC rider David Clark, who had to settle for second with 57-04, while Richard Gifford of trainSharp secured third position in a time of 57-08.

It is a first title of the season for Rogers after a myriad of top ten finishes throughout the course of the year.

Neil Edwards of Lewes Wanderers CC was the first road bike rider to finish in 01-12, a time good enough for seventh overall, while Rob Luff (GS Stella) was the fastest 65 plus veteran around the course, clocking 01-07 to finish 14th.

This 25-mile event, run on the G25/80 course, begins on the old A22 west of East Hoathly before heading towards Whitesmith and Golden Cross. Upon reaching Boship Roundabout, it retraces its steps to finish adjacent to its start location.
