Nicholas Trbovic

Scratch rider Nicholas Trbovic (Cheshire Maverick Cycle Club) took his second win of the season at the Bec CC 10, while Caroline Nottage (Army Cycling) was the fastest woman.

Trbovic, aged 31, recorded a winning time of 19 minutes and 36 seconds which was 52 seconds clear of his nearest rival.

The G10/42 saw riders start outside Dorking before completing an out and back course along the A24 down to Clark’s Green before making the return journey.

Conditions were not the quickest for riders as despite a dry day they were greeted by a slight wind on a course which has 120 metres of elevation including steady inclines and declines.

Trbovic also won the VTTA 10 on the Q10/24 course in March clocking 20-03 but he was 27 seconds faster on this occasion.

Quickest veteran Howard Bayley (Blazing Saddles) led the charge behind finishing in a season’s best second place in 20-28.

A close battle for third saw Pat Wright (Paceline RT) post 20-43 which was five seconds quicker than Nik Allen (Team TMC) (20-48) while Colin McDermott (Festival Road Club) was a further two seconds back (20-50).

Spindata had predicted a victory for Trbovic in 19-56 but in reality he was 20 seconds faster despite the conditions.

Nottage was the only competitor in the women’s time trial field and completed the course in a winning time of 24-53.

Danylo Riwnyj (TrainSharp Development Team) was a clear winner in the road bike category posting a winning time of 21-05 which was good enough for fifth place overall.

Riwnyj also won the sporting Paceline RT 15.8 and was again on impressive form.

James Haworth (Brixton Cycles Club) finished second in 22-33 while Andrew Green (Bec CC) was third (27-08).

In the women’s road bike category Agata Kapuscinska (Dorking Cycling Club) was quickest in 28-29 ahead of Dee Rutter (Anerley BC) who posted a time of 30-06.
