Angharad Berriman

Veteran Tom Scorer (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA) recorded his second win of the season in the Tri-Logic 10, while Angharad Berriman (Penzance Wheelers CC) was the women’s victor near Truro in Cornwall.

Scorer, aged 41, was the only rider to break the 21-minute barrier recording a winning time of 20 minutes and 34 seconds.

The S6/10 saw riders start at Tresillian on the outskirts of Truro before riders completed an out and back course on the B3275 to Brighton before making the return journey.

Dry but windy conditions greeted riders with a challenging headwind on the tougher outward leg of the undulating course towards Brighton.

Scorer also won the City Cycles Couriers RT 10 last month clocking 20-07 and despite the slower day he repeated that result on this occasion.

Fellow Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA rider and veteran Gavin MacDougall completed a one-two for his team finishing runner-up in 21-25.

Alexander Ballinger (George Fox Cycling Solutions) took his first podium finish of the season placing third in 22-03.

In the women’s event Berriman took her third individual victory of the season completing the course in 25 minutes and 57 seconds.

Berriman’s two other individual wins were on undulating courses and she again showed her strength to win by 47 seconds.

Fellow veteran Rose Willis (St Austell Whs CC) led the chase behind finishing second in 26-44 while Lisa Gower (Tri Logic Cornwall) placed third (28-20).
