Thanet RC’s 10-mile time trial saw host club rider Nic Fennell continue his blistering recent form as fastest male, while Miriam Jessett earned victory in the women’s event on Saturday morning near St Nicholas-at-Wade.

Fennell, who has now won eight consecutive time trials, finished the course in just 19-11, more than a minute ahead of Backpedal rider Peter Robertson, who clocked 20-14, with Tom Rowing (Abellio) earning the final podium place in 20-41.

Jessett, riding for Stolen Goat RC, sealed a dominant victory in the women’s event, finishing in 21-59 with Kent Velo’s Debbie Percival closest behind in 25-59, while Natasha Jarman of Southborough & District Wheelers third in 26-57.

In the age standard category, Mark Vowells of San Fairy Ann CC, was top in +23-57, ahead of Velorefined Rule5’s Mark Hill who finished in +20-49 and third place went to promoting club rider Bill Hawkes in +20-52.

Overall winner Fennell has now won every time trial since finishing second at the Medway Velo 10-mile time trial on May 14.

This event, run on the Q10/30 course, starts on May Street and proceeds onto the A299 past St Nicholas at Wade until the Monkton roundabout and turning to retrace and finish just west of the Roman Galley pub.
