Jacob Storey (Partenza Nude Espresso) continued his run of podium places with victory at the Witham Wheelers 25-mile time trial in Lincolnshire, while junior Georgia Lancaster (Sleaford Wheelers) was fastest female.

Storey, 30 and from London, clocked 51-08 to take the win by almost three minutes from Dominic Righini-Brand (Sleaford Wheelers), while Spalding CC veteran Chris Ward was another 33 seconds back in third spot.

This was Storey’s second open time trial victory of the season so far and his eighth consecutive top three placing, with his other victory coming in the Hitchin Nomads CC 25 back in May.

17-year-old Lancaster’s time of 1-03-55 gave her the women’s prize by 1-59 from Hilary Briggs (Serpentine Running Club), while Evgeniya Righini-Brand (Sleaford Wheelers) was third.

Lincoln Wheelers’ Sean Hunt was top veteran on standard with +15.04 which was 18 seconds better than Chris Ward (Spalding CC). Overall, Hunt’s time of 54-53 gave him fifth overall, just one second behind fourth-placed Michael Barnes (RAF CA).

In the team category Dominic Righini-Brand led Sleaford Wheelers to the win alongside Lancaster and Iain Bailey with 2-57-50.

The event used the C25/22 course from Silk Willoughby down the A15 and onto the A52 to Donington before turning back for home.

A stiff cross wind on the Osbournby to Donington section gave riders something to think about, but otherwise conditions were good if a little changeable.
