Bridgnorth CC and Wrekinsport CC took the men’s and women’s victories respectively at the Shropshire CCA 4-up team time trial over 50 kilometres.
The winning men’s team consisting of Jonathan Mills-Keeling, Tim Beardmore, Rob Childs and Ben Pierce stopped the clocking in a winning time of one hour, five minutes and 38 seconds to win the John Farr Trophy.
The popular annual events sees clubs from across Shropshire and the surrounding area gather to ride a rare four-up team time trial.
Starting in Edgmond, Shropshire, teams climbed away from the start and headed out on the rolling B5062 out to Crudgington before a first out and back led on the A442 down to Shawbirch and back to Crudgington. On their return teams contined north for the second out and back leg towards Hodnet and the roundabout with the A53 before returning.
The finishing leg was a fast one back from Crudgington to the start/finish at Edgmond.
The Bridgnorth CC quartet were pushed all the way for victory finishing 29 seconds clear of the Revolution Racing team of Andy Rose, Dean Callister, Mark Pritchard and Henri Bedford who finished in 1-06-07.
Completing the men’s podium was Wrekinsport CC A who finished in a time 1-09-11 with a team consisting of Oliver Rodwell, Tomos Hales, Jon Evans and Phill Roberts.
Wrekinsport CC Women were the only women’s quartet and their team of Bethan Till, Victoria Doran, Clare Cotterill and Deb Hutson-Lumb.
