Anthony Turner (Mickey Cranks Cycling Club) was victorious in the Oxonian 25-mile time trial near Oxford, while Ingrid Salisbury (Mercedes AMG Petronas CC) led the field in the women’s event.

Veteran Turner made it five podiums in six open events this season with his second win of the year, continuing his good form he clocked 51:45 to take top spot.

Dave Bell (Cambridge CC) and Massimiliano Radi (Team Bottrill) topped off the podium places, finishing in 52:28 and 52:47 respectively.

The H25/17 is an out and back course which goes south along the A420 leading up to a roundabout just north of the Faringdon Rugby Club where they turn for home.

Witney-based Turner had participated in an event on this same course last weekend where he finished second, but this time out he improved on that and finished on top of the podium.

Second-placed Bell was claiming his second podium of the season, this being his highest placed finish since he won an event back in May. Meanwhile Radi was claiming his first podium finish of the season, having previously had a fourth placed finish his highest of the year.

In the women’s event it was 31-year-old Ingrid Salisbury that claimed her first win of the season, clocking in at 1:01:13.

In second was Karina Kaufmann (CC London) with a time of 1:01:22, while Aimee Jones (Cowley Road Condors CC) finished in third coming in nearly a minute off the pace at 1:02:11.

Salisbury had been in a 50-mile event here over the same course earlier this month, her familiarity with the course came in handy as she was able to hold out for the victory by nine seconds.

Prior to this event Kaufmann had been out of action since September of last year, so this was an impressive finish - as fastest female veteran - given the long period out of open event participation.

Jones also had been fairly inactive so far this season as far as open events go, this being only her second event of the season. This was her first first podium this year.
