Joshua Clark (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA) took his first victory of the season in the Bournemouth Arrow CC 10, while veteran Kirsty McSeveney (...A3crg) won the women’s event.

Clark, aged 23, has accumulated four podium positions this season but finally got the win he desired in a time of 21 minutes and eight seconds.

The previous days’ heavy rain stopped early enough for the roads around Ringwood to clear on Sunday morning and allow the running of the rearranged Chris Braiden 10.

The P311 saw riders start near Ringwood before competitors headed down the B3347 to the turn at Sopley before making the return journey.

Those riders that braved the forecasted wet conditions were treated to calm and quiet conditions to race in – even if the summer warmth was missing.

Despite the tough nature of the course Clark was just eight seconds short of breaking the 21-minute mark.

Veteran rider Neil Mackley (...A3crg) placed second just 36 seconds down in 21-44 which was just eight seconds faster than team-mate and fellow veteran James Fawcett (21-52).

Quickest junior rider was Sam Rump (...A3crg) who posted a time of 25-57.

Meanwhile, Norman Harvey and Mary Corbett (Sotonia CC) were the only tandem competitors on their trike completing the course in a time of 29-24.

In the women’s category veteran rider McSeveney added another win to her collection clocking a time of 24-32.

Last weekend McSeveney posted a time of 22-49 and despite being slower on this occasion her time was enough for victory.

Jennifer Lemen (PDQ Cycle Coaching) led the chase behind finishing second in 27-40 while
Rebecca Pearce (Ridgeway Riders) finished third (29-03).
