Ole Henrik Bang-Andreasen (Onyx RT) battled against windy conditions to take victory on his maiden open time trial in the Paceline RT sporting 15.4, while Amy Marks (Team LDN) was the women’s victor.

Meanwhile in a competitive road bike category Richard Todd made it a good day for Onyx RT by taking the men’s victory while Helen Ralston (Paceline RT) edged a close women’s race.

Starting from North Holmwood riders faced a tough headwind for the opening dual-carriageway section along the A24 before leaving the main road and taking on quieter and undulating roads on the Surrey and West Sussex border.

Bang-Andreasen aged 26, was riding his first CTT open event and clocked a winning time of 33 minutes and 19 seconds.

Scratch rider Paul Burton, of host club Paceline RT, continued his improving results with a season-best second place finish just 10 seconds back while 19-year-old Tom Portsmouth (Charlotteville Cycling Club) took third in 33-43.

In the women’s event Marks, who also won the Stowmarket & District CC 20 on her first appearance of the season last weekend, continued her winning run clocking 39-02 over five minutes quicker than second placed Jennifer Fernando (Total Tri Training) in 45-23.

The road bike was equally as competitive with veteran Todd, who took 10th place in last season’s National Circuit Championships, running out victor in 34-06.

Barnabas Purbrook (Nuun-Sigma Sport-London RT) who was part of a winning 2-up team in the East Anglian VTTA 25 earlier this season finished second in 34-59 while Danylo Riwnyj (Paceline RT) placed third in 35-26.

The women’s event saw a close battle between Paceline RT team-mates Ralston and Kate Voller.

Ralston finished fourth in the Kington Wheelers 13.6 on her last outing and took her maiden win of the season in 41-14 just five seconds faster than team-mate Voller while Jonna De Vries (Grinta Coaching) finished third in 42.13.
