Ben Lloyd (Pro Vision Cycle Clothing) took a narrow victory by just 10 seconds in the Pirate Juice CC 14 while Leonie Keeling (Oswestry Paragon CC) won the women’s event.
Favourable windy conditions meant fast times for many on the D2/7 course in Cheshire for the fourth event of the Pirate Juice CC 14 series.
Starting near Saighton riders complete one-and-a-half laps of a loop which took them north towards Chester before heading back south on the B5130.
Those powerful riders who could take full advantage of the tailwind section profited from a fast day with some riders 40 seconds faster than usual.
Lloyd was pushed all the way for victory with his time of 28 minutes and 29 seconds just ten seconds quicker than Sean Mullen (Port Sunlight Wheelers) with Matthew Wales (Richard Bott Racing) completing the podium positions in 29.25.
In the women’s event Keeling was a clear victor over the course setting a time of 36-14.
She beat youngster Evelina Black (RFDA Racescene Female Development Academy) into second (37.46) while Sally Cunliffe (Clwb Seiclo Rhuthun/ Ruthin CC) finished third in 38-13.
