RISING prospects Oliver Peckover (Active Edge Race Team P/B Cooper) and Isobel Conibear (Districts of Hamwic Cyclesport) took the men’s and women’s victories respectively in the Rutland CC & VTTA 10.

Peckover, who also won the Leicestershire RC 10 before lockdown, took his second victory of the season clocking 19 minutes and 39 seconds.

A damp and windy day in Hatfield, near Doncaster, saw times hampered on the out and back course starting outside Hatfield and heading south down the A614 to Blaxton.

Peckover clocked a 19-14 to take fourth in the Leamington C&AC 10 last week, but despite being slower on this occasion took top spot.

Philip Graves (VC York) continues his search for a first open victory of the season after recording his sixth top-four finish of the season, finishing second in 20-09.

Meanwhile, Squadra RT team-mates David and John Brierley competed for the remaining podium place with the former eventually taking third in 20-29.

Keith Ainsworth (Sheffrec CC) took fifth in 20-57 and was also the fastest veteran on standard.

Conibear, competing in her first open time trial, took victory in the women’s event in a time of 25-20.
