Sebastien Garry

Under-23 rider Sebastien Garry led a one-two for AeroLab Ward Wheelz as he charged to victory in the Leamington C&AC 10, while Joanna Patterson (Pro Endurance Coaching) won the women’s event.

In his first open appearance on the course Garry clocked a winning time of 18 minutes and 50 seconds- the only rider to dip under the 19-minute mark.

Showing the strength of the up-and-coming youngsters on the time trial scene eight of the top-10 riders were aged under-23.

The K11/10T course sees riders start on the opening section of the A45 near Thurlaston and riders were treated to a tailwind on the way out and gradual downhill section to the turn at Ryton-on-Dunsmore.

After making the turn riders were hampered by a headwind as they took on the gradual climb before working their way opposite the start and up the slip-road on Coventry Road for the finish.

Garry clocked a personal best of 18-41 on his way to sixth in the Chronos RT 10 last month, but despite going slightly slower took top spot on this occasion.

Joanna Patterson

AeroLab Ward Wheelz team-mate Ollie Hucks had to share second place with Alexander Royle (Manchester Bicycle Club) after both riders finished in 19-10- some 20 seconds down on the winner.

Top junior rider Jack Rootkin-Gray (Solihull CC) finished 10th overall in 20-06 while first veteran was Nicholas Cousins (Ilkeston Cycle Club) was a further 13 seconds down in 12th.

After finishing second in the Croston Velo 10 earlier this month Joanna Patterson (Pro Endurance Coaching) took top spot in the women’s event clocking 21-20.

Francesca Hall (Team Boompods) finished second in 21-48 while her team-mate and under-23 rider Gabriella Homer completed the podium places.
