Nathan Smith and Anabel Sill finished as the fastest male and female respectively at the Cleveland Wheelers hill climb that took place near Great Broughton in North Yorkshire on Sunday morning.

Smith (Wold Top the Edge RT) completed his run in a time of 3-18 to clinch the top prize.

The espoir has started his hill climb season in strong fashion having already achieved two podium places, most notably finishing second at the Velo Club Cumbria hill climb at the start of the month.

Smith will be looking to continue his excellent form over the coming weeks and is next due to ride at the Otley CC two-stage hill climb at the start of October.

Jacob Vezy (Harrogate Nova CC) finished the event in second place after clocking a time of 3-23 to miss out on the top prize by a margin of only five seconds.

Tom Garnett (Ilkley CC) was the man to finish in third after finishing his run with a time of 3-25 respectively.

Anabel Sill (Cleveland Wheelers CC) finished with a time of 4-59 to finish top of the podium in the women’s event respectively.

Sill last achieved a podium finish at the Finsbury Park CC hilly 10-mile open time trial in 2017 and has only competed at a handful of events since.

Mark Snape (Fietsen Tempo) finished as the fastest veteran with a time of 3-56.
