Michelle Walter

Chris McNamara and Michelle Walter were the fastest male and female respectively at the Southdown Velo 50-mile time trial that took place near Fontwell in West Sussex on Sunday morning.

McNamara (Nuun-Sigma Sport-London RT) clocked a time of 1-42-12 to set the fastest time by any rider on the day and clinch the top prize.

He adds this victory to the one that he achieved at the Crawley Wheelers 10 at the beginning of the month and the second place finish he earned at the Brighton Excelsior CC 10 two weeks ago.

The 44-year-old will be looking to continue his winning form over the coming weeks as he is set to ride at the a3crg Rapido 15 on Wednesday.

Howard Bayley (Blazing Saddles) was the man to finish in second after finishing his run with a time of 1-47-08.

Bayley was last victorious at the Sussex CA 50 at the end of June and also achieved a second place finish at the Sussex CA 15 in the same month.

He will be hoping to push on for the remainder of the season and add more positive results to his record as he is also next set to ride at the a3crg Rapido 15 on Wednesday.

Dan Pullen (N+1 – Lindfield Coffee Works) was the man to finish in third, after clocking a time of 1-50-51.

Michelle Walter (Bournemouth Arrow CC) finished her run with a time of 2-15-22 to finish first in the women’s event respectively.
