Howard Shaw and Louisa Cooper topped the podium as fastest male and female respectively at the Hampshire RC 25-mile time trial that took place near Greatham in Hampshire on Sunday morning.

Shaw clocked a time of 48-48 to finish with the fastest time of the day. The trainSharp rider last topped the podium at the East Sussex CA 50 earlier this month, as well as achieving victory at the Lewes Wanderers CC 30.

He will be looking to carry his fine form throughout the remainder of the open season, with the 33-year-old set to ride at the Crawley Wheelers 10 next weekend.

Paul Jones (Primera–TeamJobs) finished in Second with a time of 50-47.

Jones last appeared on the podium at the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 10 at the beginning of the month and also achieved a second-place finish at the Bournemouth and District Women’s CA 25 at the end of April.

The 48-year-old from Bournemouth will be looking to add another positive result to his record next weekend, as he is set to ride at the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 25.

Marc Townsend (Eastbourne Rovers CC) was the man to finish in third, after finishing his run with a time of 51-10 respectively.

Louisa Cooper (Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers) clocked a time of 1-00-48 to finish as the fastest rider in the women’s event.

Cooper was last victorious as part of a tandem pairing at the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 10 in mid-May and will be hoping to add more victories to her record over the coming weeks.

The out and back course saw the riders start and finish near Greatham, making their way through Woolmer Forest and Making a turn at Bramshott.

The riders then rode back along the same route towards Prince’s Bridge before making a final turn to the finish.
