Josh Wallis and Judith Brand were the fastest male and female respectively at the Spalding CC 25-mile time trial that took place in Leicestershire on Sunday morning.

25-year-old Brand (Lincoln Wheelers CC) clocked a time of 1-17-38 to set the fastest time by a female on the day.

This was Brand’s first open event of the season having last competed at the National 50-mile Championships at the end of September where she finished 38th.

The 58-year-old improved on her finish from the same event last year in which she finished fifth overall.

Josh Wallis (Spalding CC) finished his run with a time of 53-44 to be the fastest overall rider that day.

The home club rider adds this victory to the second place finish he achieved at the Spalding CC 18 at the start of April and will be hoping to add more to podium finishes to his record over the coming months.

Wallis is next due to ride at the Alford Wheelers CC 10, which takes place near Candlesby at the end of June.

Second place went to Sam Bradley (Ellmore Factory Racing) who clocked a time of 57-27.

This was Bradley’s first podium finish of the open season with the ride last achieving a top three finish at the Alford Wheelers 10 in 2016.

Tim Lister was the man to claim the final spot on the podium as he finished his run with a time of 58-48.

The out and back course saw the riders start near Donington on the A52 and ride towards Threekingham before making a turn at Threekham Bar and heading through Osbournby towards Sleaford, before making a turn and heading back along the same route to the finish.
