Billy Jarish

Keely Mcniffe and Billy Jarish finished the day victorious in the Sleaford Wheelers CC 10-mile event in Lincolnshire on Saturday afternoon.

After a run of consistent podium finishes, Billy Jarish (Rose Race Team) finally broke the trend and captured his first victory of the year by fine margins.

Finishing in third place in three consecutive events, it was surely only a matter of time before Jarish improved and set about surpassing his 2018-win tally of two; doing so with a time of 20-55 ahead of Keith Ainsworth.

Ainsworth (Sheffrec CC) was still on the road after Jarish had crossed the line, unknowing of the time to beat. Unfortunately for Ainsworth, four seconds was the gap to Jarish as he clocked 20-59.

Karl Bailie (Whitham Wheelers) had his best finish of the season so far in third, crossing in 21-12.

In the women’s category, Keely Mcniffe (Tri3 Sleaford Triathlon Club) rose to the top on her first outing since last season. The 23-year-old stopped the clocks on 26-31, fifteen seconds better than that of second placed Kathryn Smith.

Smith (Sleaford Wheelers CC) clocked 26-46 for second as Sally Withey (Team Swift) capped off the podium in 26-52.

Daniel Galpin (Bourne Wheelers) got the better of twin brother Alex in the juvenile category with a time of 23-25. Alex clocked 23-55.
