Jessica Evans

Husband and wife pairing Dan and Jessica Evans crossed the line as top man and woman in the VC Cumbria hill-climb on Saturday afternoon near Braithwaite, Cumbria.

Dan Evans (ASSOS Equipe UK) made it back-to-back victories in hill-climbing this season with another convincing margin to second place.

The 38-year-old crossed the line nearly ten seconds quicker than second-placed Nathan Smith after clocking 6-36.8.

Evans now has a hat-trick of wins in only seven events on record this season.

Nathan Smith (Wold Top-The Edge RT) edged out Marcus Cram to the silver medal spot with a time of 6-45.5.

This marks the start of a very busy time for Smith several events lined up over the coming weeks.

Third-placed Marcus Cram (Blaydon CC) made a return trip to the podium spots after a second-place finish overall in last weekend’s Lancaster CC double header.

This time around, Cram clocked in at 6-47.4 for his third consecutive in podium in individual races.

If one Evans winning wasn’t enough, Jessica (ASSOS Equipe UK) was fastest female with a time of 8-54.8.

In other categories, Jude Davison (Beacon Wheelers) was fastest junior on the day posting a time of 9-22.2 while the fastest veteran prize went to Tony Cope (Leek CC – Den Engel Belgian Bar) who finished ahead of Richard Helm (Barrow Central Wheelers) in 7-53.0.
