Chris Bartley (AS Test Team) continued his emphatic season by taking another victory in the Charlotteville CC 10 while veteran Jo Buckland (Bush Healthcare CRT) took the women’s event win.

Bartley, 34, clocked a winning time of 18 minutes and 38 seconds to take top spot, clocking an average speed of over 32 miles per hour. His time was 16 seconds slower than his personal best recorded last month in the a3crg event which he won in 18.22 on the P883 course.

On this occasion he was pushed all the way by another in-form rider James Boyman (Hoops Velo) who despite equalling his seasons best time of 18.51 had to settle for second place.

The H10/8 course starts south of Farnham and sees riders travel south down the A31 before turning for home near Alton and completing the out and back course.

Bartley who finished second in the National 25 last month when Boyman finished ninth was also found to be quicker over the shorter distance.

Finishing a clear third place was Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) finishing in 19.23.

Buckland, 51, from Malmesbury in Wiltshire, took victory by 32 seconds in the women’s event clocking a winning time of 24.25.

Buckland also won the North Hampshire RC 10 on the same course in May clocking a time of 24.40 on that occasion.

She was chased home by host club rider Rachel Przybylski who took second in 25.07 while Charlotteville CC team-mate Virginia McGee took third clocking 25.35.
