Keith Murray.

Keith Murray (Drag2zero) went one better than his second place last year to clinch victory in the Teesdale CRC 21-mile time trial, while Becky Penty (York Tri) was fastest woman.

Murray’s time of 48 minutes and 17 seconds was almost three minutes slower than the one he set last year when he was beaten by a winning time of 45.02.

This year the race was held in deceptive conditions with many riders suffering in the head wind on the return leg.

Murray has got this season’s campaign off to a winning start after clinching victories in the Cleveland Whls sporting 10 and Darlington CC 25 last season.

On this occasion he beat Glen Turnbull (Harrogate Nova CC) into second finishing in 48.33, followed in third by Jonathon Robinson (Army Cycling Union) in 48.53.

Becky Penty.

Fastest Junior was Adam Jarps (Team Bottrill/Vanguard) while Ellis Murray (Drag2zero) added the juvenile victory. The women’s winner was Becky Penty (York Triathlon RT).

The first veteran over-50 was Chris Lax (Hartlepool Triathletes) while John Main (Cleveland Wheelers) was the quickest rider over 60 years old.
