Host club rider Bray takes victory in Plymouth Corinthian CC 13

Philip Bray went one better than his second place finish last year to take victory by 40 seconds in the Plymouth Corinthian CC 13 held on a sporting course.

The Plymouth Corinthian rider went 16 seconds faster than the time that gave him second place last year clocking 28 minutes and 44 seconds on this occasion - just 35 seconds outside the course record.

Taking place on the looped S3/13S course near Ivybridge riders started near Ermington down the A379 into Palm Cross on a rolling section before a fast downhill back section and then a climb up to Modbury, before a fast finish.

Bray also had to settle for second in the sporting St Austell Wheelers event earlier this month but went one better on this occasion.

Veteran Ian Cullen (Mid Devon CC) was fastest veteran and on standard with a +5.19 in second place overall.

Lauren Dolan (Team Breeze) took victory by over a minute in the women’s category clocking a time of 32.12 ahead of Vicky Jowett (Plymouth Corinthian CC) in second.

The fastest junior prize went to Harvey-Jon Terry (Somerset Road Club) with a time of 35:51 while Alex Lewis (Exeter Wheelers) was the quickest rider on a non aero bike finishing in 33.19.
