Tobias Wiesand finished top man as Vikki Sivertsen secured a maiden win in the women’s category as VC Sevale staged a 10-mile time trial in Worcestershire on Saturday afternoon.

Wiesand (Banbury Star CC) started 20th and posted an early time of 21-01. It would be nearly an hour until he would learn his fate, and his time remained as the lead for the day but with only a six second gap separating him from second.

In the women’s category, Vikki Sivertsen (Malvern Triathlon Club) on the other hand was the last female out, having to better a time of 25-24 set earlier by Leah Ball (Successcycling.co.uk).

Sivertsen powered to a time of 25-14, handing her a maiden victory for the 2018 season after a previous best of third.

Back in the men’s event, Jon Howard (Team Echelon) was the man six seconds (21-07) off the pace in second. The veteran has had a busy year and now has four podiums with one win so far. Like déjà vu, Howard finished second in VC Sevale’s other 10-mile event earlier this year behind Stuart Travis.

In third place was Simon Garrett (Worcester St John’s CC). Garrett has been unable to take the next step and obtain his first victory but has a string of podiums – the third place was his fifth of the year.

Leah Ball was second in the women’s major placings with Arja Scarsbrook (Bush Healthcare CRT) third in 26-34.

Best host club rider for the day fell to Graham Browning who finished 11th in 22-15.
