Andrew Feather

Yasmin Marks and Andrew Feather were the fastest male and female respectively at the Belper BC one-mile hill climb in Ambergate on Saturday afternoon.

Marks (Beeston CC) set a new women’s course record as she clocked a time of 4-55.

The 26-year-old rider has been in excellent form in recent weeks, most recently topping the podium at the Bolsover & District CC hill climb last weekend.

The Beeston CC rider also finished second the weekend before at the Huddersfield Star Wheelers hill climb.

The fastest male on the day was Andrew Feather (BCR Racing) who finished his run with a time of 3-13.

Feather has also been in good form over the hill climb season with numerous victories already on his record.

Yasmin Marks

The 33-year-old rider was victorious twice last weekend, topping the podium at both the North Lancashire RC and the Holme Valley Wheelers hill climbs.

Second spot was claimed by Joe Clark (Cycling Sheffield-Giant) who finished with a time of 3-19 at the end of his run.

Clark was also victorious last weekend at the Bolsover & District CC hill climb and topped the podium at the Stocksbridge CC hill climb too, and will be hoping to perform well next weekend on the same course at The National Hill Climb Championship.

The final spot on the podium went to 2016 national champion Adam Kenway (Vitus Pro Cycling) who finished with a time of 3-22.

After suffering from a delayed start to his run due to a flat tyre, Kenway did well to claw some time back and clinch a spot on the podium. The 31-year-old has had several podium finishes throughout the season, last winning the Reading CC two-stage hill climb at the start of October.
