Mead and Maitland take victories in ANDCC 25

David Mead.

David Mead (Lutterworth Cycle Centre) and Sally Maitland (Beeston CC) took category victories in the ANDCC 25 near Nottingham.

Veteran rider Mead, 41, from Nuneaton recorded a winning time of 52 minutes and 57 seconds along the flat looped A25/2 course starting from Barnstone.

Mead who was also victorious in the Saracen RC 10 and Rugby Racing Club 10 was the only rider to break the 53 minutes mark during the event.

Ian Guilor (Mapperley CC) was the best of the chasing pack clocking 53.35 just 10 seconds quicker than scratch rider Daniel Barnett (Team Bottrill/HSS Hire) in third.

Fastest association rider of the ANDCC who clinched the Mick Oldnal trophy was Guilor.

Maitland who also took victory Matlock CC 25 earlier this season clocked a winning time of 1:05.24 for victory in the women’s event.

A close battle for second saw Lauran Walker (Team Bottrill/HSS Hire) clock 1:07.18 some nine seconds faster than Louise Day (Neon Velo) in third.

The fastest association team who won the Lighthouse trophy was Mapperley CC.
