In-form Aerocoach rider Victoria Smith clocked 54.06 to take victory in a competitive women’s race at the South Pennine Road Club 25-mile time trial, staged on the A25/11 near Etwall in Derbyshire on Saturday.

The 29-year-old from Hornchurch in Essex was just 19 seconds clear of her nearest rival, Rutland CC’s Karen Ledger, while Anna Morris (Loughborough Students CC) was third with 55.01.

Smith has ridden three open ten-mile events so far this season, and was fastest female in them all – the Catford CC 10 and Melton Olympic 10 in April, as well as the VC Sevale 10 in March.

She next plans to ride the Stone Wheelers 25 next Saturday, and the Hitchin Nomads 25 the following weekend.
