Brian Fogarty (Fogarty Insurance Tri Team) took victory by over a minute in the Southport CC 25 clocking a time of 53 minutes dead.
The senior rider who took fifth place in the much longer Stockton Wheelers 100 last season had enough speed over the shorter 25 miles to clinch victory.
Taking riders towards the coast the out and back the course started in Tarleton before heading towards the coast at Southport before riders tuned back on themselves for the return journey.
Matthew Moorhouse (Preston CC) went one better than his third place in the Glossop Kinder Velo 25 to finish second in a time of 54.04 ahead of James Wright (Preston Wheelers) who clinched third with a 54.29.
Fastest woman on the day was Janet Fairclough (St Helens CRC) in 1:09.28, while host club Southport CC picked up the team prize thanks to rides by Martin Bailey, Rob Hurst and Pete Leonard.
