Gary Chambers (Fareham Wheelers CC) took victory at the Andover Wheelers 10 on Sunday with a finish of 19:49 to see off the challenge of runner-up Andy Langdown (Blazing Saddles).

The victory saw Chambers go one better than the second-place finish he registered at the Team Axiom 25 near Winchester earlier in June, putting a solid distance between himself and Langdown after the front two had pulled away from the pack.

Langdown had been victorious at the Alton Cycling Club 10 in June and took a strong second place at the Poole Wheelers 10 in Dorset, but missed out here to Chambers despite finishing more than a minute clear of Simon Healey in third.

Healey, of Andover Wheelers, led a tightly packed bunch on a time of 21:00 with Simon Berogna (VC St Raphael) following up in fourth on 21:00 and Paul Jones (Primera/Team Jobs) in fifth on 21:07.

Adel Tyson-Bloor (Andover Wheelers) was the fastest woman finisher on 24:14 and the fastest veteran 50+ was Tony Gifford (Andover Wheelers) on 21:33.
