Former multi-distance time trial champion showed that he can still turn on the style with a convincing win in the VTTA 15-mile event held in Garstang, Lancashire on Sunday.
The Preston Wheelers rider bolted to a time of 34.09 to take first place by a margin of 2.18 with Cheshire CAT member Paul McAllister finishing second with 36.27.
Mick Black of Springfield Financial was third in 36.39 – enough to give him the veteran on standard prize.
The fastest woman was Sue Cheetham of North Lancs RC who raced round the course in 41.52.
Springfield Financial took the team prize with Mick Black, Simon Lester and David Sharrock putting in good performances.
