Stephen Williamson was the only rider to complete the 100-mile course in Llanwrda in under four hours as the drizzle failed to dampen the spirits of the riders taking part in the West Wales Cyclists League event on Sunday.

The A3CRG rider completed in 3:59.04 with Gregory Woodford of Reading CC finishing second with a time of 4:02.24.

In the women’s event, it was Laura Bartlett, also of A3CRG, who took top spot with a time of 4:23.29. Kirsty Murray (Pembs Velo) was second in 4:49.10 and Sarah Lloyd-Stephens (Hereford) was third in 4:59.09.

A special mention also goes to 12-year-old Joshua Tarling of West Wales CRT who not only completed the arduous course but did so in the impressive time of 4:49.00.
