Steve Irwin of North Lancs RC took a fine win over 25 miles in the Walsall Road Club event held on Saturday.

The veteran rider completed in 47.25 to see off the challenge of Richard Bideau of Pendle Forest CC who stopped the clock 25 seconds down on Irwin. Matt Sinclair of Lutterworth CC finished third with a time of 47.53.

Anna Turvey of Tyneside Vagabonds was top woman with a time of 51 minutes dead, eight minutes and 31 seconds quicker than second-placed Zoe Whiteside of Team Bottrill. Libby McLaren was third, the Born to Bike rider finishing just under the hour mark in 59.55.

Howard and Becky Lewis of Fibrax Wrexham took the tandem prize in 48.37 and the team prize went to Lutterworth CC RT trio of Matt Sinclair, Lee Tunnicliffe and Ian Wrobleski who combined for 2:30.24.
