Stephen Irwin stole a tight victory at the Lancashire Road Club 10 on the L101 near Garstang in Lancashire on Saturday.

The North Lancashire RC rider pipped runner-up David Crawley (Velotik RT) by 11 seconds with a time of 19:49 for the L101 course which takes the riders along the A6 through Forton.

Irwin, who was also the fastest veteran on the day, was following up on the victory won at the VTTA (North Lancs and Lakes) 25 in April, although his win on Saturday came by a much finer margin.

Third place went to Derek Parkinson (Springfield Financial) who was back on 20:41, whist Richard Bickley (Border City Wheelers) was fourth on 21:03 and Ben Harrison (Prima Team Racing) in fifth on 21:12.

In the women’s race Theresa Taylor (Preston CC) on 25:16 took victory by just shy of 30 seconds from runner-up Carol Westmorland (Border City Wheelers), whilst Annia Modlinsky (Manchester Wheelers) was third on 25:54. 

Ben Huddart (Lancashire RC) was the fastest junior with a time of 23:00.
