Prolific time trial winner Pete Tadros (In Gear-Quickvit Trainsharp RT) stormed to a convincing victory in the Worthing Excelsior CC 25-mile time trial, staged on the G25/54 near Broadbridge Heath in West Sussex on Sunday.
The 45-year-old from Hastings clocked 52.06 to take the win by a comfortable 1-37 from Ben Elliott (Paceline RT), while the podium was rounded off by Mark Smith (Crawley Wheelers), another six seconds back.
Among previous wins this season for Tadros – who was also the best veteran on standard with +14.57 - are the East Sussex CA 15 and Sydenham Wheelers 10, as well as several other podium finishes.
Southborough and District Wheelers’ veteran Julia Hawksworth was the fastest female in a time of 1-02-48, beating Sophie Coleman by 23 seconds, while Amy Forshaw (In Gear-Quickvit) was third, 36 seconds slower than Hawksworth.
Crawley Wheelers won the team prize with Mark Smith, Brindley Taylor and Nigel Langridge forming the victorious trio, while Chris Filewood (Oxted CC) was top junior with 56.50.
