Jon Simpkins edged a thrilling contest in the Warwickshire RC Open men’s event at Dunnington on the K33/10D, squeezing into first place by just two seconds.
The Drag2Zero rider beat Scott Walker of Team Bottrill into second with a time of 20.42 on the course that runs between Salford Priors and Alcester in Warwickshire, adding to the victory he scored earlier this month at the VTTA Midlands event.
Simpkins is no stranger to victory on this course, having registered a win here back in June at the Redditch Road and Path CC with a time of 20.18.
Though he fell just short of first place, Walker finished comfortably ahead of B Xavier Disley (AeroCoach) in third, who in turn took a slender victory over Richard Bradley (Media Velo / Dynamic Rides) with David Kiernan back in fifth on 21.12.
