Andy Jackson (SSLL Racing Team) rode to victory by a comfortable margin of 31 seconds at the BDCA 25 at Etwall in Derbyshire on Saturday.

Jackson put clear daylight between himself and the rest as the riders raced around Etwall and Uttoxeter at the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border, leaving Steve Irwin (North Lancs RC) and Philip Graves (Clifton CC York) to eke out a tight battle for second.

Irwin on 48:17 narrowly pipped his opponent Graves by a single second, leaving the York rider to settle for third place.

Matt Sinclair (Lutterworth Cycle Centre) took fourth on 49:08 whilst SSLL Racing Team’s Simon Beldon had to settle for fifth on 49.10.

In the women’s race Karen Ledger (Langsett Cycles) won by a comfortable margin of 57 seconds from runner-up Jasmijn Muller (Borntobike- Bridgetown Cycles), whilst third place was taken by Katja Rietdorf, fourth by Lynne Biddulph (Borntobike) and fifth by Rachael Mellor (Holmfirth CC).
