Prolific Pedal Heaven early season race winner James Gullen notched up another victory, this time in the West Pennine RC hilly 14-mile time trial at Knowle Green in Lancashire on Saturday afternoon.
The 26-year-old clocked 30.40 to take the win by 1-17 from veteran Derek Parkinson (Springfield Financial), while Richard Bickley (Border City Wheelers) completed the podium in third, another 34 seconds adrift.
Fastest female was over-60 veteran Maggie Biggs (Team Bader Amputees) with 47.46. Jo Rowsell Shand (Podium Ambition) had been expected to be the fastest female and even challenge some of the men in the top ten, but she punctured mid-race and was a non-finisher.
