Veteran CC Desiragear rider Mark Arnold made it two wins in two days when he was the fastest in the Mad March Hilly event held in Lavenham in Suffolk on Sunday.

After winning the 10-mile Plomesgate CC event on the Saturday, he was seven seconds ahead of his closest competitor in this event, completing a fantastic weekend.

The 41-year-old tackled the challenging course in 48.09, six seconds quicker than second-placed Jason Boutell (Team Velovelocity.co.uk) who completed in 48.15.

Those two riders were well ahead of the rest of the field with third-placed Jim Hardwicke of Plomesgate CC finishing 3.20 down on Arnold with a time of 51.29. It was two podiums in two days for Hardwicke, having finished runner-up in the Plomesgate event in Sudbourne.

Tricia Goulden of West Suffolk Wheelers and Tri Club was the fastest woman on the day, completing in 1:00.55. Goulden was also successful in the Plomesgate event, joining Arnold as a double winner.
