Description

Headquarters: Kilmington Primary School Butts Lane, Kilmington Warminster BA12 6RB You must sign on in advance of your start at the headquarters where you can pick up your number and receive any last minute instructions or warnings. Please return your number after your ride to the canteen in exchange for a free drink. Cycling shoes are NOT to be worn in the hall Please keep your head up at all times. At roundabouts the traffic coming from the right has priority over you so please give way. Course Notes: Marshalls will be positioned at all turns detailed in the course description, additionally all turns will be signposted. Please take extra care riding through villages and be aware of cars parked on either side of the road and oncoming traffic especially in Maiden Bradley approaching the traffic calming measures and in the village. The descent into Bruton is steep and the road surface has some “loose” as well as the surface being rough in places, additionally the left turn on the Brewham Road at the bottom of the hill is very sharp so please exercise caution on the descent and after the turn as this is a residential area. A risk assessment will be carried out on the day and any additional risks will be detailed at the event HQ. Please do not warm up on the course Route to start from HQ: Turn right out of HQ car park, ride to T junction, turn left towards start. Please note: No U turns should be made in sight of the start or finish areas. Competitors, their helpers and event officials must use the toilet facilties provided at the event headquarters, fields and hedgerows must NOT be used for toilet purposes, failure to observe this regulation may result in disciplinary action. No cars other than that of the timekeeper(s) and other event officials are to be parked in the vicinity of the start or finish areas. First man off is at 0921 this is intentional to avoid any possible chance of riders being delayed by cattle crossings (this almost happened twice last year) Observers will be in attendance to see that all riders comply with CTT regulations with regard to bike equipment and riding conduct. Please ensure that you are conversant with current CTT regulations. No event runs completely smoothly, and I will apologise in advance if anything goes wayward, additionally if you can think of any improvements please let me know.
