Description

THE START TIME IS 19:01 Event Headquarters the Newport Village Hall on the B1230 Numbers and signing on at HQ (Open from 18:00) SAFETY In the interests of your own safety, Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise all riders to wear a hard shell helmet that meets an internationally accepted safety standard UNDER 18S Please note regulation 15 in the2008 Handbook which states that riders under the age of 18 must wear a properly affixed helmet of a recognised standard. It is the responsibility of the rider or parent/guardian to ensure that the appropriate helmet is worn and correctly fitted .The CTT recommends that a working rear light either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to following road users, and is active whilst the machine is in use. You will have the same number for all 4 events .Please return your number after each event in exchange for a drink and a cake. LOCAL REGULATIONS Do not stop on the A63 unless it is unavoidable. Please do not warm up on the course once the event has started. Please do not go past the start into South Cave to warm up (we have had complaints from the local council. regarding riders showing no regard for people in the village) ONCE YOU ARE AT THE START YOU HAVE TO STAY THERE SO DON’T ARRIVE EARLY Use the road that turns right over the A63 it is less busy. No U turns near the start. Do not pass the start time keeper other than to start your ride, once at the start wait on the pavement or in the gateway behind the timekeeper until being called to start( this is for safety reasons )Riders are advised that The CTT district council will discipline any rider that is reported for riding in an unsafe manner. Or who contravenes local regulations. Warning the police are very concerned that riders are causing an obstruction at the start, they have had a number of complaints about riders standing two abreast on the road waiting to start. Please keep of the road until you are called by the start steward. Stand on the pavement or in the gateway behind the timekeeper. Don’t warm up on turbo trainers near houses (LOCAL REGULATION) No Cars at the start please WE HAVE TOILETS AND CHANGING ROOMS AT THE HQ PLEASE USE THEM. WE HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS ABOUT RIDERS URINATING IN PEOPLES GARDENS & RIDERS SHOWING MORE THAN THEY SHOULD WHEN CHANGING IN CARS IN THE VILLAGE All riders that start event 1 will get 500 points, in event 1 they will have a target time based on their best performance last year or this year a deduction of 1 point will be made for every second slower than this time, 1 point will be added for each second faster than this time up to a maximum of +60 or -60. Please let me know if your target time on the start sheet is incorrect before event 1 ( if a time is not shown for 2013/14 is not shown the entry time will be used) Non starters will lose 150 points for each event they don’t start in. The target time is in use until a rider records a time in the league. Riders that D.N.F will not lose points for that event. Late starts will not receive a time penalty but they will lose 50 points on top of any other points achieved in that event Points can be gained in event 2. For every second improvement on event 1 time a point will be gained, for every second slower than event 1 time a point will be deducted up to a maximum of +60 or -60. Points can be gained in event 3 .For every second improvement on event 2 time a point will be gained, for every second slower than event 2 time a point will be deducted up to a maximum of +60 or -60 Points can be gained in event 4. For every second improvement on event 3 times a point will be gained for every second slower than event 3 times a point will be deducted up to a maximum of +60 or-60. The points gained will be used to place riders in rank order and points will be awarded. Riders fastest 3 rides will be used to calculate placing based on average speed. Riders will be put in rank order and points will be awarded. The awarding of points will depend upon the number of qualifiers if 50 riders qualify the first placed rider in each categories will get 50 points and the 50th placed will get 1 point. The points gained in the two rank order lists will be added together to decide the overall placings in the league. In the event of a tie the person with the most points gained in the improvement section will be given the higher placing. (Sorry if it sounds complicated but I understand it, and I know it will work out O.K) Prizes in 3 sections Speed , Points & Combination of Speed & Points. You will be able to follow your progress by looking at the result board A Result sheet will be issued after event 4 Please use the toilets at the village hall we have in the past had complaints about people going behind hedges only 25 yards away from the village hall. No turbo trainers within 100 yards of houses please (Local Regulation) YOU RIDE WITH THE SAME NUMBER IN EACH EVENT BUT PLEASE RETURN IT AFTER EACH EVENT
