Description
THE EVENT HQ IS SKELSMERGH COMMUNITY HALL (LA9 6NU), which is approx 1.5 miles north of Morrisons supermarket just off the A6 north of Kendal. When you see Skelsmergh Church, take the turning to it sign-posted Meal Bank and you come to the hall 150 yards later. There is a small car park beside the road approaching the hall, and plenty of overspill parking on grass in the community field behind it. Do not block the vehicular entrance to the homes beside the church. There is additional lay-by parking on both sides of the A6 between the hall and the start. The HQ will be open from 10.45am. Body numbers and the signing on sheet (everyone must sign on) will be available in the main hall. Numbers must be returned afterwards.
ALLOW 10 MINUTES TO RIDE DOWN THE A6 (towards Kendal) TO THE START
Local regulations:
* Any competitor making a U-turn in the vicinity of the start or finish will be disqualified from the event.
* In ALL events, competitors prior to starting are not permitted to ride past the finish time-keeper during the duration of the event.
* Riders must not stand in the road at the start or finish (this constitutes obstruction, and is a breach of regulations).
* Riders must NOT ride ‘head down’.
* Riders must shout their number at the finish and elsewhere on the course if requested.
* Times will be not be given to competitors or supporters at the finish.
In the interests of your own safety, the event promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted standard. JUNIOR/JUVENILE RIDERS MUST WEAR SUCH A HELMET.
