A week after he won the Rossendale CC Hilly `11` James Gullen (Pedal Heaven RT) looks for a repeat performance in the North Lancs RC Circuit of Pendale classic 28-mile time trial. Last year's winner Mark Holton sits it out this time leaving the way for Mark Haydock (North Lancs RC) and Stephen Ayres (Bronte Wheelers) to improve on their respective fourth and sixth places last year. Others looking to get in the mix include Ian Cox (Fogarty Insurance Tri Team), Peter Thomas (Kent Valley RC) and Craig Battersby (Team Chronomasters) while the women include Nikola Matthews (Boot out Breast Cancer CC).

 

Battersby teams up with team mate Stephen Feeney to ride Saturday's Nova CC 2-Up `25`at Gawsworth where Simon Shaw and Andy Tubb (Wills Wheels CC) and Mark Hassell and Steve Fidler (Dave HInde RT) are among the opposition.

 

National 100-mile Champion and Competition Record Holder Charles Taylor (South Pennine RC) returns to the Matlock CC Hilly `25` where he defends against Steve Gibson (PeakRC) and Andrew Newby (Langsett Cycles RT), who finished second and third to him in 2015.

 

Harry Tanfield (Cleveland Wheelers) will be looking to complete a hat trick of wins in his club's open 21-mile event where he comes up against Philip Graves (Clifton CC York), Paul Thirling (Stockton Wheelers), Stephen Ayres (Bronte Wheelers).Shaun Tyson and Dan Evans (Adept Precision RT), Elliot Gowland (Team Bottrill) and Chris Hopkinson (CC Desiragear)

 

City RC's 3-Up `25` looks made for the strong SSLL RT-Nopinz OTE of Jonathan Wears, Joel Wainman and Jon Surtees while in the South the VTTA Kent `10` at Harrietsham includes Closed Circuit Championship Silver medallist Chris Fennell (Thanet RC) and Keith Lea (Paceline RT).

 

Dean Robson (Nopinz), James Ratcliffe (Fred Williams RT), Jamie Holmes (Mid Shropshire Wheelers), George Evans (Team Bottrill) and Helen Tudor (Oswestry Paragon) go for the Wrekinsport CC Hilly Chris Edwards Memorial `18` at Worfield. Riders are warned to keep a weather eye out for pot holes on the course.

 

Already a winner this season, Chris McNamara (Nuun-Sigma Sport-London) rides the Sussex CA 22.8-miles Hardriders event at Handcross. Out to challenge are Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC), Peter Tadros and Connall Yates of In Gar Quickvit Trainsharp RT, Mark Emsley (Team ASL360), Simon McNamara (South Downs Bikes) and Ben Elliott (Paceline RT), Sarah Phelps (Brighton Mitre CC) is among the women entered.
