Postponed from July 1, Saturday sees the RTTC National 50-mile Championship  take place at Seagrave, Leicestershire, in the Leicester Forest CC promotion.

Missing from the July version, Kate Allan (Drag2Zero) returns to defend her 2017 title with the strong challenge expected to come from her team mate Alice Lethbridge and Anna Turvey (Tyneside Vagabonds), Emma Lewis (The Independent Pedaler), Katie Greves (A5 Test Team) and Karen Ledger (Team Bottrill-Vanguard) to mention a few of the potential medallists among the 48-strong entry.

The Men’s field 140 plus strong features a clutch of our fastest current riders led by 50-mile Competition Record holder Marcin Bialoblocki (NOPINZ) and Paul Hart (Southend Wheelers) who also beat the old `50` record this year, and Stuart Travis (Team Bottrill-Vanguard), who last week set a new 30-mile Competition Record add in riders like Ryan Perry (Drag2Zero), Adam Duggleby (Vive le Velo), Gary Chambers (NOPINZ), Chris Fennell (The Independent Pedaler) and Andy Jackson (AeroCoach) and you can see we are in for a nail biting event.

The course is the A50/13 with the women first off with the promoting club’s Sarah Soden kicking the day off at 07.31. First man is away at 08.20. Bialoblocki is last off at 10.45.

Event headquarters are at Seagrave Village Hall, Green Lane, Seagrave LE12 7LU.
