Cycling Time
Trials Scholarship was established in
January 2006 with support from Yellow Ltd/Rudy
Project.
The idea of
the Scholarship is to enable a small number of
riders to be based in Europe and sample
Continental Racing.
The first
beneficiary of the scholarship was James Millard
(twice former winner of the Espoir category of
the RTTC-Rudy Project Time Trial Series). James
was based in Belgium for most of the 2006 season
and submitted regular updates about how he was
getting on.
The
Scholarship also gave a limited amount of
support in 2006 to both Levi Huck & Daniel
Davies
In 2007 James
Stewart, Simon Baxter, Alistair Robinson & Mark
Holt spent some time in Belgium as
recipients of Scholarship funding.
In 2008 Alistair
Robinson will be based in Belgium for May, June,
July & August. Simon, Dean, Vicky & Becky will
be joining him for August.
Who is eligible to apply for the Scholarship?
In order to be eligible riders would
generally be expected to:-
• be under 25 on the 1st January in the year
that they want to race on the continent.
• be good all-rounders (road racing and time
trialling).
• show prominently in the RTTC-Rudy Project Time
Trial Series.
The scholarship is open to riders of either sex.
Applications for 2009 should be sent by 30/09/08 to:-

How is the Scholarship Funded?
It is hoped that eventually the Scholarship
will be self financing.
Over £1,000 was raised at Champions Night in
2006 from the sale of Rudy Project Key Fobs and
over £1,200 was raised in 2007 by raffling a
Pinarello Bicycle. In 2008 over £1,100 was once
again raised by raffling a Pinarello Bicycle.
The Scholarship receives donations and Rudy
Project Key Fobs (priced £5) in support of the cause are
available for sale through the on-line shop, at
National Championships and at Rudy Project
events. These key fobs have been donated, the
entire £5 from the sale of each one goes to the
Scholarship.
