THE RTTC BRITISH BEST ALL-ROUNDER
COMPETITIONS CONDITIONS
(Promoted by Cycling Time Trials)
- The Competitions shall be called, The RTTC
British Best All-Rounder Competitions and
shall comprise one for men and one for women.
- The Competitions shall be open to members
of the Headquarters Club and to all members of
clubs affiliated to Cycling Time Trials or to
the Scottish Cyclists' Union. All competitors
must have been continuously resident in Great
Britain for the previous two years or have
proven British nationality. The competitions
shall be based upon each rider's fastest
single bicycle or tricycle performance during
the season in eligible events at 50 and 100
miles and 12 hours for the men's competition
and 25, 50 and 100 miles for the women's
competition, such performances to be
calculated (to three decimal places) in terms
of miles per hour and the average taken of the
resultant speeds.
- All RTTC National Championships shall be
eligible events.
- All eligible events must be open to:
- Men only, or
- Women only, or
- Men and women where 20% of the maximum
permitted entry is reserved for women in
priority to men at distances qualifying for
the RTTC Women's British Best All-Rounder
Competition.
Subject thereto and to the promoting club's
right exercised in good faith to refuse entry
of any individual, eligible events other than
RTTC National Championships must be open to
all entrants who are members of clubs
affiliated to either Cycling Time Trials or
the Scottish Cyclists' Union.
Any advertised limit of acceptances must not
be less than:
- 80 in the case of events open to men and women
- 60 in the case of events open to men only
- 20 in the case of events open to women only.
Events that are restricted as to gear or
category, events that exclude a class of
person, or specialised events (e.g. rough
riders events etc.) shall not be eligible.
- No event promoted after 30th September in
each year shall be eligible.
- No event promoted on a closed circuit
shall be eligible.
- Eligible events will be published in the
official list of events issued by the Company
and the Union and those lists shall be final
except that errors may be rectified and dates
altered up to the 31st March. All changes
shall be subject to the approval of the
National Executive body of the country
concerned.
- SCU Regulations shall apply to eligible
events held in Scotland and Cycling Time
Trials Regulations shall apply to eligible
events held in England and Wales.
- The organising Secretary of the promoting
club shall be required to complete a
certificate, approved by the National
Committee, staling that all riders have
completed the course and that the event
complied with the regulations in every
respect.
Copies of the start and result sheets, plus
the completed certificate shall be sent to the
National Competitions Secretary within 28
dates of the event.
- Awards will be made to men and women
placed first, second and third in their
respective competitions and certificates will
be presented to all riders who return an
average speed in the final table of 22 m.p.h.
or more in the men's competition and 20 m.p.h.
or more in the women's competition.
- Awards will be made to the first and
second teams in the men's competition and the
first team in the women's competition. For the
purposes of the competitions a team shall
comprise three members riding in the name of
one club. Any competitor entering or allowing
himself (or herself) to be entered in an
eligible event in the name of one club shall
not be eligible to count for the competition
team race in the name of any other club until
the following year.
THE JUNIOR BEST ALL ROUNDER COMPETITIONS
CONDITIONS
- The Competitions shall be called the Junior
Best All Rounder Competitions and shall com¬prise one for boys and one for girls.
- The Competitions shall be open to all Junior
and Juvenile members of the Headquarters Club
and of clubs affiliated to Cycling Time Trials
or to the Scottish Cyclists' Union. All
competitors must have been continuously resident
in Great Britain for the previous two years or
have proven British nationality.
- Each Competition shall be based on each
entrants' fastest two performances at 10 miles
and fastest two performances at 25 miles in any
Open, Semi-Open, or Association event held on or
before 30th September in each year. Each
performance shall be expressed (to three decimal
places) in terms of miles per hour, and the
average taken of the resultant speeds.
- Before 15th October in each year competitors
must send details of their qualifying
performances to the National Competitions
Secretary (from whom application forms can be
obtained) who may require the production of the
appropriate start and result lists.
- Medallions will be awarded to the riders
placed first, second and third in the
Competition for boys and in the Competition for
girls. Certificates will be awarded to all
competitors who return an average speed of 22
m.p.h. or more in the Boys' Competition and 20
m.p.h. or more in the Girls' Competition.
